OKWU Baseball Stays Alive in NAIA Postseason

Oklahoma Wesleyan baseball won an elimination game in the opening rounds of the NAIA tournament on Tuesday night.
 
The Eagles knocked out Loyola University New Orleans, 8-2.
 
OKWU got off to a great start offensively, they took a 4-0 lead through the first two innings. Luis Antigua hit a two-run single in the first inning. Wally Diaz doubled to drive in a run and Daurys Manzanillo singled to score Diaz.
 
The Eagles added on to the lead in the top of the eighth thanks to a solo home run from Cade Stinson. Loyola responded with two runs in the bottom of the eighth to stay in it.
 
OKWU put the game away in the ninth after two runs scored on a throwing error and Braydon Caldwell singled to stretch the lead to six.
 
Ashton Luera pitched a complete game for the Eagles. He allowed four hits, both runs were earned, walked three and struck out nine.
 
The win puts the Eagles in another elimination game and a rematch with LSU Shreveport, the host of the opening round tournament. The Eagles lost to the Pilots on Monday night, 5-4.
 
First pitch is set for 11 a.m. The winner plays Mid-America Christian University at 2:30 p.m.
