OKU Football Looking for First Win Against Commerce

Oklahoma Union Cougar football is searching for their first win of the season this week, following a tough loss in their home opener to Barnsdall.

The Cougars fell at home to the Panthers, 54-18, to drop to 0-2 on the season.

Despite the start on the field, head coach Bruce Munden talked about the grit of his players.

One bright spot for the Cougars has been Kane Nash. Nash executed a fake punt perfectly against Barnsdall and turned it into a 65-yard touchdown. Munden said Nash is a difference-maker.

OKU now turns their attention to Commerce, their second 2A opponent through their first three games, and their final non-district game. Commerce enters the contest 0-1, after falling to Fairland on Friday night, 47-6.

Kickoff from Oklahoma Union is set for 7 p.m. on Friday night.
