Nowata's Season Comes to an End Against Tonkawa

Nowata's season was on the line Friday night when the Ironmen had to beat Tonkawa in order to advance to a regional consolation championship game on Saturday. Nowata fell short, 72-55.
 
The Ironmen gave up 25 points in the first quarter and trailed by nine. That was the difference, as Nowata quickly got down double digits in the second quarter. From there, the Ironmen were unable to get it back to single digits. Tonkawa's largest lead of the game stood at 17. 
 
The Ironmen offense played well, especially in the second half as Tonkawa attempted to pull away. Clint Harrington led the way offensively for Nowata, finishing with 26 points. This basket got the Ironmen to within 12 midway through the third quarter.
 
The Ironmen got it to within ten points on two occassions in the fourth quarter. Each time Tonkawa answered with a basket on the opposite end. 
 
Talon Thompson was also in double figures for Nowata. The Ironmen finish their season with a 12-13 record.
 
Tonkawa will play Fairview in the regional consolation championship game. The winner advances to the area tournament.
