Nowata Wins County Battle at OKU

	Nowata football dominated on Thursday night against Oklahoma Union for their second district win.
	The Ironmen beat the Cougars, 56-28.
	Nowata opened the scoring on their opening drive with a touchdown to take an early lead. The Cougars had a quick answer, thanks to a 39-yard touchdown run by Joseph Lindner.
	Following that OKU score… Nowata took control of the game.
	The Ironmen found the endzone five times on their first seven possessions of the night and led 40-14 at halftime.
	This 78-yard touchdown pass from Adrian O'Dell to Asiah Saxton helped the cause for the Ironmen. 
	This is the first time Nowata has beaten Oklahoma Union since 2016.
	With the win, the Ironmen are 2-7 overall and 2-4 in district play. They will round out the regular season next Friday night on the road against Tonkawa.
	For Oklahoma Union, the Cougars fall to 1-8, they are 1-5 in district play. They will finish out their season next week on the road against Pawnee.
