Nowata basketball is back in action on Thursday night against a county foe in South Coffeyville.

The Ironmen are currently on a three-game skid and sit at 7-6 overall. The Ironmen recently finished fourth in the Chelsea Tournament with losses to the Caney Valley Trojans and Ketchum. Nowata lost to Riverfield on Tuesday, 78-48.

Head coach Derick Ott talked about restoring the team's offensive identity.

On the other side, South Coffeyville enters at 1-6 overall. Their lone win on the season is against Prue in the Copan Shootout back in December. This is the first team above class A that the Lions will play this season.

Even with South Coffeyville's struggles to this point, Ott says the focus is on his team.

The Nowata and South Coffeyville girls will get the evening started at 6 p.m. The boys game will follow around 7:30 p.m. Full coverage of the boys game can be heard on 104.9 - KRIG and KRIGTV.com.
