Nowata Golf Into Regional Action

Nowata golf has entered the postseason swing with the girl's season already concluded.
The Lady Ironmen took to the course for 2A regionals at The Coves Golf Club in Afton on Monday. With a few regular starters missing regionals, the Lady Ironmen finished seventh as a team. They were led by senior Kahlyn Reese, she finished 33rd overall.
With the girl's season complete, head coach Homer Johnston says the future is bright for Lady Ironmen golf.
On the boy's side, Nowata will head to their regional next Monday. The Ironmen have been led mainly by Jackson Hurd, Kason Summers and Brett Malone, with Ty Williams and Caleb Woolman filling in the gaps.
Last season, Hurd was the lone qualifier for the Ironmen to the 2A state tournament out of regionals. In order for the entire team to qualify, they must finish in the top three. Individual golfers must finish in the top five if the team does not qualify.
Nowata's regional will take place at Jimmie Austin Golf Course in Seminole. The Ironmen will compete against other area schools such as Caney Valley, Oklahoma Union and Wesleyan Christian School.
