Nowata Golf in Full Swing in 2026

Nowata golf is in full swing this spring with both the boys and girls teams already in action.

On the boy's side, the Ironmen have competed in a handful of tournaments already and have seen stellar results. Jackson Hurd and Kason Summers have led the way for the boys so far this season. Hurd is the lone state qualifier off last year's team that returns this season. He finished 28th in last year's 2A state tournament.

Head coach Homer Johnston talks about Hurd's mentality this season.

The Nowata boys won a tournament on Monday at Flint Ridge Golf Course in Kansas, Okla. Summers finished second, Hurd and Brett Malone tied for third.

On the girl's side, the Lady Ironmen have seen sensational growth heading into the season. The Nowata girls did not have a state qualifier last season, but they look to take a few golfers to state this season.

Johnston talks about the competitive drive of the girl's team.

The Lady Ironmen competed in Nowata's home tournament last weekend.

The 2A state golf tournaments are May 4 and 5 for the girls at Muskogee Golf Club. The 2A boys state tournament will take place at KickingBird Golf Club in Edmond.
