Nowata Falls Short in Regional Championship

The Nowata Ironmen made the trip to Colcord for the second day in a row, this time in a rematch with the Colcord Hornets in a 2A Regional Consolation Championship game. Nowata had their chances and moments to pull this one out, but suffered too big of a blow in the third quarter as they fell, 55-48.

The Ironmen had a halftime lead of 30-25, part of that reason was freshman Adrian O'Dell who got this tough and-one bucket. However, the third period would be all Colcord as they would take a 43-34 lead over Nowata heading into the final frame.

Chelo Prince had a career high day as he poured in 17-points to lead all scoring.

Kaleb Bashford struggled from the floor as he only made one three-pointer and finished with just 11-points in the contest. He did however knock down a huge bucket to draw the Ironmen within two-possessions late in the fourth.

Nowata would not be able to get any closer than that as they lose by eight.

The Ironmen season comes to a close at 12-15 on the year with a district title win for the second straight season.
