New-Look 2024 Bruin FB Schedule

Last week we talked about some changes to Bartlesville High’s upcoming football schedule, let’s delve into the Bruin’s 2024 schedule as fall camp is less than seven weeks away.

Bartlesville is starting its season with a Zero Week game for the first time since 2019. The Bruins will travel to Newcastle for a non-District game to begin the season on Thursday, Aug. 29. Most high school football teams will start their seasons on either Aug. 30 or Sept. 6.

The change was a direct result of the latest re-Districting from the OSSAA.

Sapulpa, one of Bartlesville’s scheduled non-District opponents, will now be in the Bruin’s District, as the Chieftains were bumped from 5A to Class 6A-II. This left BHS scrambling for one more opponent.

The addition of a Zero Week game means BHS will have a bye-week on Sept. 13. This is right before one of the toughest stretch of games of the season.

Head coach Harry Wright talks about the addition of a bye.

Bartlesville will also travel to Claremore, Muskogee, Sand Springs and Ponca City. The Bruins will host Collinsville, Sapulpa, Putnam City North, Putnam City West and Capitol Hill.

BHS is coming off a 5-7 season with its second-straight season of winning a playoff game.

This is the final week of work for the Bruins before next week’s OSSAA dead period. More on offseason football with Bartlesville High head coach Harry Wright planned for later this week.
