If you missed it on Saturday morning, KWON held its annual high school football preview show.

KWON's Coach’s Breakfast Broadcast aired live from Chick-Fil-A in Bartlesville.

We talked with all the local head football coaches, as teams are less than two weeks away from kickoff across Northeast Oklahoma.

At Bartlesville High School, the Bruins schedule was thrown into flux because of lightening across the area. BHS was unable to hold its scrimmage on Friday evening due to weather. Bartlesville ended up throwing the pads on Saturday afternoon to make up for it.

Bartlesville head coach Harry Wright was at the breakfast on Saturday, he says this year’s senior class is a special one.

We have talked a lot about the quarterback and wide receiver duo of Nate Neal and Damien Niko, but there will be some older guys with a little less varsity experience this fall, too.

Wide out Julian Uribe came on strong at the end of 2023. After some roster movement, Uribe will likely be one of the starters opposite of Niko at the wide receiver spot.

Wright talks about what Uribe will bring to the table.

BHS will host Bishop Kelley in a scrimmage at Custer Stadium this Friday evening, it will be a dress rehearsal for Bartlesville’s opener at Newcastle on Thursday, Aug. 29.

If you missed coach Wright or the rest of the area’s coaches, our Coach’s Breakfast is archived online at KWONTV.com.
