Mustangs Split Thursday Action at Ty Hewitt Invitational

The Oologah Mustangs were back on the court Thursday at the Ty Hewitt Invitational in Nowata, turning in a strong showing from the girls’ team and a hard-fought effort from the boys. Tournament energy filled the gym as both squads continued their stretches of mid-December play against familiar regional opponents.
The Lady Mustangs rolled to an impressive 41–18 victory over Chelsea, using a lockdown defensive performance to control the tempo from start to finish. Oologah forced turnovers, limited second-chance opportunities, and steadily built a lead behind balanced scoring. With the win, the girls continue to show poise and confidence as they move deeper into the invitational.
The boys faced a tough challenge against Rejoice Christian and came up short in a 35–45 loss. Oologah kept within striking distance throughout the game, but Rejoice’s late pushes made the difference as time wound down. Despite the setback, the Mustangs displayed resilience and flashes of strong execution—signs that they remain competitive as the tournament continues.
