The Bartlesville High girls’ basketball team is set to play its first-round game in the 6A State Tournament this afternoon.

BHS takes on Mustang in an elimination game from the Lloyd Noble Center in Norman.

Mustang enters at 20-6 on the season. The Broncos won their Area with a Regional championship game win over Piedmont then a narrow victory over Edmond North on Thursday.

Bartlesville just beat Broken Arrow on Saturday to claim an Area Consolation title.

Lady Bruin head coach Justyn Shaw talks about oddities of playing in the State tourney.

Bartlesville left for the event yesterday afternoon.

Mustang may have the best size of any team Bartlesville has played this season. The Broncos have five players on the roster listed at 5-10 or taller. One of them, a 6-1 senior in Mya Alston, who is listed by many recruiting sites as a top-150 high school senior.

Alston has an offer from ORU.

Shaw talks about the challenge of facing Mustang.

A noon tip off with about an 11:30 pregame from Norman, it is a game we will carry for you on Sports Talk 99.1 FM and 1500 AM – KPGM.

You can also listen online with a live-scoreboard updated on KWONTV.com.
