Lady Bruin Softball State Bracket Out

The bracket is out for Bartlesville High softball in the 6A Fast Pitch State Tournament.
BHS kicks off its State journey in Oklahoma City on Thursday against Mustang. This is the last game of the day for day one of the event. The Lady Bruins enter at 28-11 following a home Regional championship on Wednesday and Thursday of last week.
Last season, Bartlesville entered State after a road Regional championship. Head coach Kyle Minton says the goal for this BHS softball team from the very beginning was to host this year, and that hosting put the Lady Bruins over the top.
The key victory for Bartlesville was a 7-6 win over Enid on Wednesday night in the winner’s bracket round. The Lady Bruins got down 6-0 before starting a comeback.
Two runs in the bottom of the seventh won it, with the crucial hit coming from Kenzie Denny.
Minton talks about the anatomy of the BHS comeback.
First round opponent in Mustang will not be easy. Mustang enters at 29-3 on the season. The two only have a handful of common opponents. One of the three Mustang losses came to the Lady Bruin’s District champion Broken Arrow.
A 4:00 first pitch from Field 3 at Devon Park in Oklahoma City on Thursday.
Should BHS win on Thursday, it would play at 1:30 on Friday against the winner of Owasso and Stillwater.
