Justyn Shaw Talks BHS Girl's Season

We are a couple of weeks removed from Bartlesville High girl’s basketball’s run to the 6A State Tournament.

The Lady Bruins knocked off Owasso, Jenks and Broken Arrow en route to the program’s first State Tournament appearance since 2018. It was a high school slice of March Madness, as BHS had struggled to gain traction early in the season.

The BHS girls entered the postseason as the six-seed out of the Lady Bruin’s District, but were playing their best basketball at the end of the season.

Head coach Justyn Shaw talks about his reflection now that the season is over.

Bartlesville will graduate four of its six rotation players off of this year’s team. Shaylyn Ishem was named sixth-man of the year in the Lady Bruin’s District while Shaw was named Coach of the year.

Shaw talks about the memories created for this group.

The Lady Bruins finished up 2026 at 17-11 with a loss to Mustang in the first round of State.

More planned to wrap up the historic BHS girls season in the coming days.
