Jarome Jackson, Patriot Athlete of Week

It is another Monday, which means it is time for another Patriot Auto Group Area Athlete of the week, powered by Tri County Tech. Nowata football is coming off of their first victory of the season last friday, and a big reason why is Senior offensive and defensive lineman Jerome Jackson for the Ironmen. The Senior had multiple tackles for loss and a sack defensively to help Nowata win at the line of scrimmage and win 44-6 over rival Caney Valley.
Away from the football field, Jackson has been equally successful, as he was named Homecoming king on Oct. 20. Jackson is currently taking college classes and talks about that and future plans.
Jackson also has hopes of playing football in college, and has excelled at multiple sports for Nowata. He has been a state participant as a thrower in Track & Field while also making state in powerlifting. While sports are an important part of Jackson's life, he says volunteering in his community whe he gets the chance is important too. Right now, he is focused on helping his team make strides in a positive direction.
