The Doenges Ford Indians made quick work of their first opponent in the Mountain Home, Arkansas Twin Lakes Classic, as the Tribe have sprinted to one of their best start in years.

Bartlesville pounded North Central Arkansas 9-1 behind a complete game winner from Eli Winters on the mound and timely hits up and down the lineup. It was a five inning run-rule.

Bartlesville pounced for seven runs in a marathon fourth inning. The big blow came from veteran Brenden Asher.

A bases-clearing triple but the Indians in command.

Bartlesville had started the rally earlier in the inning. Tied at 1-1 this ground-rule double from Hunter Shea gave the Indians the lead for good earlier in the frame.

Bartlesville sent 12 men to the plate in the inning. The Indians would win it in run-rule fashion with a single run off a Jaxon Zaun single in the fifth. Zaun was the only Indian with two hits, he also had two RBIs.

Winters was brilliant on the bump. Over five innings the Glenpool product surrendered one unearned run on three hits. Winters struck out five and walked one.

Bartlesville improves to 12-3 on the season and now 1-0 in the tournament.

The Indians will face Paragould, Arkansas at 5:00 on Friday in game two, a contest we will join in progress on KWON – AM 1400, FM 93.3 and 95.1. Video coverage in its entirety on KWONTV.com.
