The Doenges Ford Indians ended their six-game losing skid with a much-improved performance in game two of their double-header on Thursday night.

Bartlesville split its twin bill with the Lonnie Cobble Baseball Club. Indians fell in the first contest 14-1, then rebounded to win the second game after it was tied 4-4 at the end of the seventh.

Game one was again one to forget. Cobble scored six runs in the first and five more in the second. The double-digit deficit ended the game in the fifth.

Meanwhile game two was a different story. Bartlesville struck for three runs in the first and another in the third.

This drive from Nik Johnson to the wall helped give Bartlesville a jolt in the third.

Meanwhile the Tribe got a great start on the mound from Oklahoma Wesleyan product Calen Lopez, who went the full seven frames. He surrendered only five hits and struck out five.

He got two double-plays in the contest to help get him out of trouble, including this one in the fourth inning.

The game was tied at four at the end of the seventh when Cobble refused to play the eighth inning, which gave the Indians the victory and some needed momentum headed into the 65th Glen Winget Tournament.

The Tribe improves to 14-10 on the summer.

Bracket for the July 4th event should be out on Friday, it begins this coming Thursday at Bill Doenges Memorial Stadium.
