Indians Falter in Second Game in Mt. Home

The Doenges Ford Indians will have to win on Saturday to advance to the semifinals of their Mountain Home, Arkansas tournament.

Bartlesville stumbled in multiple facets against an experienced and college-heavy Paragould, Arkansas club on Friday.

Paragould run-ruled the Tribe 8-0 in six innings.

Bartlesville got a good two frames from ORU signee Brenden Asher, but then started to falter. The Indians gave up 10 hits and committed five errors in the contest. Bartlesville tallied only two hits.

Things started to snowball after a misplayed ball in the third inning led to a couple two-out Paragould runs

It was 3-0 into the fifth, Paragould tacked on four more to put the game out of reach.

Asher got five strikeouts over 4.1 innings. This one in the third kept the Indians within reach.

Asher and Kael Siemers were the only two Indians with a base hit.

Bartlesville drops to 12-4 on the year and 1-1 in the Twin Lakes Classic. The Indians will face Mountain Home McLeod in the finale of pool play at noon on Saturday. A win would likely mean a spot in the Sunday’s semifinals, a loss and the Indians would be unlikely to qualify.

We will have that game for you on KWON – AM 1400, FM 93.3 and 95.1. Video coverage on KWONTV.com.
