Bartlesville’s summer baseball team has hit a mini skid after a handful of collegiate league games early this week.

The Doenges Toyota Indians have dropped five in a row following another sweep at the hands of a DBAT League club last night. The OK Lookouts topped Bartlesville 13-3 in five innings in game one and 5-2 in game two at Bill Doenges Memorial Stadium.

The Indians had early leads in both games. The Lookouts benefited from free passes in the first game. Bartlesville pitching walked nine batters and hit three more.

The Indians would score their final run off a good swing from Brenden Asher in the bottom of the fifth.

Game two was much more competitive. The Indians had a 2-0 lead into the bottom of the fourth, when the Lookouts would score three runs to get back in it. Guest starting pitcher out of Oklahoma Wesleyan, Zachariah Ray, pitched well. He tossed 3.2 innings but some walks in the fourth ran him into trouble.

Sam Marcella had the best day at the plate of any member of the Tribe. He had RBI singles with two outs in the first inning of both games.

Down 5-2 in the bottom of the sixth, Liam Buchanan made the defensive play of the day, throwing out a runner at the plate to keep the Indians within striking distance.

Indians drop to 7-14 with the loss.

The Tribe's games scheduled for Thursday have been called off, as Bartlesville was slated to head to Independence, Kansas. The field in SE Kansas is having flood issues.
