Tough one for the Doenges Toyota Indians in their opener in Mountain Home, Arkansas on Thursday night.

Tribe dropped a close one to Pontotoc, Mississippi, 3–2.

The Indians left 10 runners on base, then gave up three unearned runs over the course of the seven frames. The Red Sox walked it off in the bottom of the seventh on an Indian error.

Despite the loss there were plenty of bright spots.

Eddie Rice moved his hit streak to six games and drove in two runs in the fifth.

The senior Bulldogger-to-be has eight hits over his past six games. Kael Siemers and Brenden Asher had the other two hits for Bartlesville.

Both Grant Clark and Zane Griggs pitched well. The two combined to allow just five hits over seven frames. Clark got the start and went the first four. He gave up two unearned runs. Griggs took the loss, giving up another unearned run.

This play from Brett Eaves cut down a run at the plate.

Indians are 0-1 in pool play but get right back after it on Friday at 5:00 against Mt. Home on KWON & KWONTV.com.
