Indians Drop Second Glen Winget Tournament Game

The Doenges Ford Indians are still searching for their first win in the Glen Winget tournament as day two came to a close Friday evening. Bartlesville was once again the night cap and they took on another Arkansas foe, this time in the Greenwood Yard Goats 11-3 in six innings.

Things were very close through the first four innings as the Indians trailed just 2-0, but the fifth inning would be where the wheels would fall off for the Tribe. Five runs would come across for the Yard Goats to extend their lead before they plated four more in the sixth inning to make it 11-1.

There were a couple of bright spots though for the Indians. A nice defensive play early in the game saved another run from coming across for the Yard Goats in the second inning.

Trey Bennet was pretty good on the mound for the Indians as he went 4 innings and grabbed four strikeouts and gave up four runs. Zane Stricklin would come on in relief to finish the game

Kaleb Bashford was the only Indian to grab two hits today as the Nowata product went 2-3 and scored a run. Brendan Asher, Jaxon Zaun, and Liam Buchannon were the other Indians to get a hit in the score books. Asher also made a great defensive play at short stop in the sixth inning that helped stop a run from scoring.

The Indians are now in a very tough spot if they want to make it to semifinal play on Sunday as they are 0-1-1 in the tournament. They also fall to 14-11-1 on the summer.

Bartlesville will play the nightcap Saturday night at 8 pm against a familiar foe in the Mountain Home Locker room. We will once again have it for you on KWON AM 1400 FM 93.3 and 95.1 and video coverage on KWONTV.com
