Indians Drop 2 Wednesday - Back at it Thursday

It was another tough evening for the Doenges Ford Indians, as Bartlesville’s summer baseball team dropped both sides of a double-header to their rival Three Rivers Bandits on Wednesday night.

The losses have the Indian’s midseason slide to a five-game losing streak.

It was 3-0 Three Rivers in a competitive game one, while game two got away from the Tribe quickly in a 16-0 defeat.

In the first contest good pitching and defense kept the Indians in it. Grant Clark went the first five frames while Eli Winters threw the final two. The two allowed only six hits and three walks in the outing. But three two-out runs for the Bandits in the third would stand.

This play from Brenden Asher at short stop helped end a Three Rivers rally.

The second game will be one to forget. Three Rivers scored six in the first then five more in the second and third to take any drama out of the contest.

Play of that game came from Hunter Shea and Kael Siemers, who teamed up to throw a Bandit runner out at the plate to keep a run off the board in the third.

Bartlesville drops to 13-9 with the losses. Indians will host Lonnie Cobble in another Collegiate League double-header on Thursday evening.

A 5:45 first pitch for game one, in a couple games we will carry for you on KWON and KWONTV.com.
