It was the 60th annual Bartlesville City Golf Championship over the weekend held across Hillcrest Country Club and Adam’s Golf Course.

It was a familiar golfer who had his name etched into the trophy for the sixth time.

Nathan Hughes took home the city crown with two red numbers. Hughes shot 71 at Adams on Saturday and a 70 on Sunday at Hillcrest.  The two-day score of 141 won the event by three strokes.

Hughes talks about his day on the course Sunday and what it meant to win another title.

This is the sixth time that Hughes has won the City Championship. Landon Curd and Ross Novak both finished with a 144 tied for second. Dan Johnson and Jack Pritchard finished in a tie for fourth at 145.

Hughes talks about his six city championships.

The other major story line for the afternoon was Bartlesville High sophomore-to-be Jay Wasemiller.

The 15-year-old finished alone in sixth place with a 146. His 70 at Hillcrest on Sunday tied him for the best score of day two.
