Harry Wright Previews Claremore

Bartlesville High head football coach Harry Wright and three-year starting center JR Earnhart were the guests on last night’s Bruin Football Coaches Show.

Bartlesville will travel to Claremore on Friday night looking for its first win of the season.

BHS played four freshman extended snaps during the loss at Newcastle last week. Landry Holmes played a lot on the offensive line. Daeton Stevens played at running back. Meanwhile Michael Kent and EJ Beisle were in in the defensive backfield.

Wright talks about the freshmen getting so much early playing time.

The main problem for the Bruins last week: Tackling. Bartlesville missed nearly 70 tackles against a Newcastle offense that was option-read heavy.

Wright says tackling has been an emphasis all offseason, but was an even bigger one over the past few days in practice.

If you missed the Harry Wright Show from last night, it is archived on KWONTV.com.

We preview Bruin Football every Wednesday night from Dink’s Pit BBQ on KWON and KWONTV.com around 6:00.
