Gundy Talks QB Future in Stillwater

Oklahoma State head football coach Mike Gundy had his final weekly press conference of the season on Monday, as the Cowboys wrap up their 2024 season at Colorado on Friday morning.

Oklahoma State is 0-8 in Big 12 play, a team that was picked to finish 2nd in the conference in the preseason.

There has been little to get excited about over the past two months for OK-State fans, but this past Saturday’s offensive performance was the best it’s been in Stillwater this season. Freshman quarterback Maealiuaki Smith made his first start, and the Cowboys promptly scored 48 points in a loss to Texas Tech.

Smith, a sophomore next year, Garrett Rangel. a junior to be, and Zane Flores, who will be a sophomore, are all expected to be in Stillwater next fall, making the QB choice heading into 2025 an interesting one.

Gundy talks about those three young quarterbacks.

An 11:00 AM kick from Colorado on Friday. A game we will carry on Sports Talk 99.1 FM -KPGM.

Brent Venables will talk about the Sooner’s regular season finale at LSU on Tuesday.
