Frye Named Pawhuska's Interim Football Coach
Mark Frye has been tabbed to lead the Pawhuska football team on an interim basis. This comes after Brandon Gipe resigned two weeks ago. Frye had served as Matt Hennesy's defensive for the previous eight seasons and was coming back to serve in that role this year. Frye has served as an assistant football coach for more than 20 years while at Pawhuska. He is the current athletic director and is also the track coach.
Frye says it is important to continue building upon the foundation of success that has been built for the Pawhuska football team. The first time head football coach explains how they plan to do that.
Frye will continue to serve as defensive coordinator and Jake Price is being brought on to help with things on the defensive side of the ball. Craig Walker and Jason Snodgrass, who have both been on staff for six years, will help with the offense and Michael Houghton, who is in his fourth year with the program, will help with the offensive line. Frye says having that staff continuity will be a good thing for the players.
Pawhuska's season starts Friday, August 28 with a home game against Fairland.
