Fowl Play at the 16th Green

Geese might be nature's most arrogant squatters, but Boots Hollow Golf Club has finally decided to serve them an eviction notice. After enduring excessive turfgrass damage from the feathered vandals digging for snacks near the pond, The course announced the deployment of a "Bird Banger." This specialized, completely harmless noise pistol shoots a screaming cartridge into the sky to scare the birds off the targeted 16th green. Rather than waiting for the geese to kindly improve their golf etiquette, the club is bringing out the noisy artillery to send them packing without ruffling anything more than their pride.

If you happen to live next to the 16th hole and hear what sounds like a rogue Fourth of July celebration on a random Tuesday morning, don't panic, it’s just the golf course playing bouncer. The plastic launcher fires whistling "screamers," a proven tactic farmers use to protect crops from similarly stubborn avian freeloaders. The club will only use the device a few times a week or less, which means local golfers can finally focus on sinking their putts instead of dodging aggressive waterfowl and their inevitable, grassy landmines.
