Edmond Memorials Beats BHS in District Play

Bartlesville High boys’ and girls’ basketball made their last regular season trip to the Oklahoma City metro on Tuesday night for a District double-header.

It was all Edmond Memorial in the second matchup of the year between the Bulldogs and Bruins.

On the girl’s side Bartlesville hung with one of the best teams in the state for the first half. Edmond Memorial would pull away big-time in the second half. Bulldogs over BHS, 63-25.

Bartlesville was within 10 at halftime but only scored six points in the second half. This led Memorial to outscore BHS 34-6 in the third and fourth quarters.

This Emma Zimmerman three in the second quarter would keep Bartlesville within striking distance.

Bartlesville girls still above .500 at 11-9 on the year, 4-8 in District play.

Meanwhile it was a similar story on the guy’s side. Bartlesville hung with Memorial for the first 12 minutes before the Bulldogs turned it on. Edmond Memorial over the Bruins, 78-33.

Bartlesville cut a double-digit deficit to six on this three from Grant Clark midway through the second quarter. 

The Bruin guys only scored one point in the third quarter, leading to the large margin of victory for Memorial. Trae Collins and Riley Duong both finished with 10 points.

Bruin guys are 3-17 on the year, 2-10 in District play.

Senior night up next for both clubs at home against Owasso on Friday from Bruin Field House.
