Dewey, OKU Volleyball Gearing Up for Regionals

Regionals for volleyball at the 3A level are just around the corner, and in our area two programs will be in the same regional.
Coming off an 11-18 season last year, the Dewey Lady Bulldoggers had a massive turnaround this season, currently sitting this season at 20-7. Dewey is ranked eighth in the state, which gives them a home regional to start the playoffs.
Dewey has one final regular season tune-up on Monday against Salina for senior night. First serve is at 4:30 p.m.
After winning two regular season tournaments already this season, head coach Hayley Harris talked about persevering through some tough spots.
Joining Dewey at regionals will be the Oklahoma Union Lady Cougars, led by head coach Cassey Tignanelli.
OKU is 10-21 on the season, after closing things out by winning two of their last three matches. The Lady Cougars beat 16th-ranked Summit Christian in their final match of the season last Thursday, and beat 5A Will Rogers just over a week ago.
Tignanelli talked about bringing all of the pieces together.
Joining both Dewey and OKU are Corn Bible Academy, Regent Prep, Sequoyah (Tahlequah) and Westville. The regional tournament is single elimination.
Regional action begins on Thursday.
