Dewey Hoops Opens Oologah Tournament

Dewey basketball is back in action on Thursday night for round one of the Oologah Tournament.
Dewey has won their last four games by double-digits, including a 42-32 win at Wesleyan Christian School on Tuesday night in their first game back from winter break. Dewey didn't start to pull away in that game until the fourth quarter. Head coach Lance Knight talked about his guys putting that game away.
Dewey opens the Oologah Tournament against a Sequoyah (Claremore) team that beat Dewey in the regional rounds of the playoffs. A season ago, the Eagles made it all the way to the state semifinals. Sequoyah finished 29-3 last season.
This year, however, the Eagles look a little different with a new head coach and a younger core. Sequoyah is 4-5 going into Thursday's game. Knight talked about the Eagles this season.
The Lady Bulldoggers will also take on Sequoyah in the Oologah Tournament. The Dewey girls tip-off at 7 p.m. The boys will tip-off at around 8:30 p.m.
Coverage of the boys game can be heard on 104.9 - KRIG and KRIGTV.com.
