Dewey and OKU Basketball Collide in Opener

High school basketball returns on Friday night, as the Dewey Bulldoggers open their season on the road against Oklahoma Union.

Dewey returns almost the entire team from last season with only three seniors graduating off last year's squad. Head coach Lance Knight talked about taking on an entirely new OKU bunch.

Oklahoma Union only returns one player off last year's team that had varsity minutes. A season ago, the Cougars finished 13-14 overall and 3-5 in the Northeast Valley Conference. Head coach Riley Duncan talked about his new guys adjusting to the speed of the game.

Last season the two teams met three times. Dewey took two of the three, including at OKU on the road back on Jan. 28. Oklahoma Union's only win over Dewey was at Dewey on Jan. 14 in overtime.

The girls will get the evening started on Friday night at 6 p.m. with the boys game to follow. Coverage of the boys game can be heard on 104.9 - KRIG and KRIGTV.com.
