Copan football had one of the more impressive wins of the area this past weekend.

The Hornets got a blowout road victory over Midway, 62-6. It was the start of the game that showed the most promise.

Copan scored 40 points before the Hornets even ran their fifth offensive play of the game. A pick-six and a punt return for a touchdown combined with three scores on the first four plays from scrimmage put the game away.

Head coach Marshall Foreman talks about the benefits of having a blowout win in the first game of the season.

Hornet running back Weston O’Rourke scored the first three touchdowns for Copan. He had two carries for two scores along with the punt return for a touchdown.

Copan will now host its first game of the season against Foyil. Copan has beaten the Panthers each of the past two seasons, with a combined score of 86-41.

Foreman talks about Foyil.

Copan at home against Foyil on Friday night at 7:00. That game will be the only high school football game in Washington County this weekend.
