Let’s continue to look at offseason high school football, as we are getting closer and closer to fall camp kicking off. The start of high school football practice is about seven weeks away.

At Copan, the Hornets will have some of their highest expectations they’ve had in nearly 20 years. The Hornets return all but two seniors off a team that made the Class C playoffs for the first time since 2009.

Copan will operate in Class B-II this fall; A classification higher than Copan has been.

The Hornets will stay in a District with some familiar faces, such as Wesleyan Christian School and Wilson-Henryetta. The Hornets will have some bigger and new opponents like Midway, Porum, Webber’s Falls and Arkoma.

To prepare, Copan went to a tough team camp in western Oklahoma earlier this offseason. Head coach Marshall Foreman explains.

Playing the likes of Laverne and Shattuck was no easy task in late-May, but Foreman says this was the type of challenge his program needed heading into Class B-II this fall.

Copan returns quarterback Kane Foreman, along with Shooter Brewington, Weston O’Rourke and many others.

According to Foreman, more than 20 guys were out for the eight-man program in the spring.
