Former Bartlesville High basketball superstar David Castillo held a free youth basketball camp on Tuesday at the Boys and Girls Club of Bartlesville.

Castillo, who will be a freshman playing power five basketball at Kansas State this fall, was joined by other former Bruins in Jordan Carter, Michael Smith, AJ Parker, KK Duncan and others.

There were two sessions of the event, each with dozens of 3rd-8th graders in a solid turnout.

Castillo talks about why he wanted to squeeze in a basketball camp right before he heads back to college.

Castillo will be starting his first week of college next week, as he will move to Manhattan, Kansas to get set for his next chapter on Sunday. He already went through summer workouts with the Wildcats.

Castillo says he is appreciative of Bartlesville and says he loves knowing he has the community behind him as he starts his first year of college basketball.

More on David Castillo’s first year in college planned over the next week.

Castillo is Bartlesville High’s all-time leading scorer after only three years in the program. He played his senior year of high school ball at Sunrise Christian Academy in Wichita this past winter.
