Cherryvale handed the Caney Valley girls a 63-36 loss Tuesday night, a game that was largely decided before the final horn. A running clock was implemented midway through the fourth quarter as the Lady Bullpups struggled to generate offense. Leading scorer Elyn Washburn was held to four points, while Ameris King-Dunn and Molleigh Kaminska paced Caney Valley with 14 and 15 points, respectively.

The boys game told a different story, turning into a back-and-forth contest that remained tight throughout the night. Caney Valley jumped out to an early lead, but Cherryvale rallied to take the advantage into halftime. The teams traded runs through the third and fourth quarters, with the Bullpups converting in key moments late.

Cherryvale missed several opportunities down the stretch, allowing Caney Valley to secure a 64-57 victory. This 3 for Layne Denny helped seal the deal for the Bullpups. Layne Denny and Traxcyn Garton each scored 14 points to lead the Bullpups, as multiple Caney Valley players again reached double figures. Both Caney Valley teams are scheduled to travel to Fredonia on Thursday.
