Caney Valley Football Holds First Indy Practice
Fall practice gets underway for high school football teams in Oklahoma this week with lots of teams kicking off their seasons this month.
At Caney Valley (OK), the Trojans are led by second-year head coach Derrick Hammer, looking to build off last year and take some momentum into a new season.
The school announced over the winter that they will play an independent schedule this year and next year. The Trojans will not be able to qualify for an OSSAA playoff. An independent schedule does not assign them a district.
Hammer talks about the first week of fall camp.
The Trojans kick off their season on Aug. 28 for Barnsdall for the second straight season.
