Bruin Volleyball Rebounding After Tough Loss

Let’s look back at Bartlesville High volleyball, as the Lady Bruins wrapped up a historic 2024 season last week.

BHS went 30-9 and came one set short of making it to the 6A State Tournament.

Westmoore beat the Bruins in five sets during the Bartlesville Regional final this past Tuesday evening.  The Jaguars came up with consistently good play and a high-level of execution against BHS. Bartlesville won the first and fourth sets before Westmoore put it away in the fifth.

First-year head coach Andrew Blain says looking back on the match, he gives a lot of credit to the Jaguars.

The match ended the career of six outstanding Bartlesville seniors, many of whom had been part of the resurgence of BHS volleyball over the past four years.

Blain says after expecting to go to State the past seven days have been hard.

Although six seniors graduate, Bartlesville will have 10 seniors on next year’s team, making it an older one albeit with some new athletes in the varsity lineup.

We will have more wrapping up 2024 BHS volleyball over the next week.
