Bruin Spring Game Coming Up

One day away from the Bartlesville High football spring finale, as the Bruins will show what they’ve learned on Friday night at Custer Stadium during their Spring Game.

BHS has been at it for about a week and half, dodging the raindrops and getting set for a team camp next week.

New this season, next year’s freshman can practice with BHS. Head coach Harry Wright says with the addition of those guys he’s got about 70 out for practice the past two weeks.

The Bruins were forced to be young for quite a bit of last season, and Wright says he thinks those reps will pay off for that group this fall.

Bartlesville finished the year at 3-7 but did make the playoffs for the third straight season. BHS fell in a close game against Putnam City.

Wright says one of the big initiatives over the past week has been to build depth. Last season when some injuries and roster departures happened, it was all freshman on the front line.

Wright talks about that process.

The spring game kicks off at 7:30 on Friday night from Custer Stadium. They will have a youth flag football game beforehand. Warm-ups begin at 7:00.
