Bruin Football Heads to Team Camp
Bartlesville High football wrapped up the spring practice portion of its spring ball schedule on Wednesday.
BHS had its first seven days at Custer Stadium, as position battles and padded practices hope to prepare the Bruins for games in the fall.
Bartlesville returns a bit more than half of its starters, including a senior quarterback and senior No. 1 wide receiver in Nate Neal and Damien Niko.
Bruin head coach Harry Wright specifically mentioned some battles at a guard position on the offensive line and some at linebacker and in the defensive backfield.
Some of that should get more fortified as the Bruins head to team camp the next two days. BHS will go to Putnam City for action against other 6A programs in the state starting today.
Wright talks about objectives for BHS football during this weekend’s team camp.
Bartlesville had been to camp at Pittsburg State the past two years of Wright’s tenure in Bartlesville. The Pitt State camp had a change in dates, which threw the Bruin’s schedule into flux. The main casualty was the Bruin’s spring game and alumni scrimmage.
More on Bartlesville High football in the spring planned for the next several days.
