Both OKWU Soccer Teams Playing in KCAC Title

Oklahoma Wesleyan men's and women's soccer will have a chance at a Kansas Collegiate Athletic Conference championship when both teams play in the KCAC tournament finals on Wednesday.
Both men's and women's soccer teams are the top seeds in the conference tournaments, automatically sending both squads to the NAIA national tournament as regular season champions.
On the women's side, the Lady Eagles will take on the 2-seed Friends University in Wichita, Kan. Through 15 matches against conference opponents, they have allowed just one goal. They have outscored their opponents 6-0 in the conference tournament.
On the men's side, the Eagles meet 3-seed Ottawa University in the conference finals on Wednesday afternoon. They have not lost a match all season and have just one draw in conference play. That lone draw is against Ottawa on Sep. 24 on the road.
On defense, the Eagles have shut out six different conference opponents and allowed more than one goal twice this season. Head coach Jamie Peterson talked about some players defensively who have stood out, including Luis Vergara and Tylor Guerrero.
The Lady Eagles will get the afternoon started at 1 p.m. against Friends University. The men will follow at 4 p.m. against Ottawa. Both matches will be played at Stryker Sports Complex in Wichita.
