Best win of the young season on Monday night for Bartlesville High baseball, as the Bruins picked up their first District victory at Union.

BHS outlasted the Redhawks in a 12-4 win.

Bartlesville used an eight-run top of the sixth to grab the win.

A trio of Union errors helped BHS, as eight of the 12 Bruin runs were unearned. Still, Bartlesville had 10 hits. Cy Rigdon, Sam Hill and Gavin Thomas all had two hits with Bryce Leulf earning a triple.

Kanin Romesburg and DJ Thornton combined to go the seven innings on the mound. Thornton was impressive. He went 4.2 in relief. He gave up only three hits and no runs.

BHS had trailed 4-3 until scoring nine unanswered over the final two frames.

Bartlesville is 5-7 overall and 1-2 in District play.

BHS will try to break out the brooms at Bill Doenges Memorial Stadium for game two of the series on Tuesday night at 6:00 from Rigdon Field.
