BHS Volleyball and Softball Lose Tough Ones

Unfortunately, it wasn’t a winning night for Bartlesville High softball or volleyball, as both teams fell on the road in tough matchups on Tuesday night.
Let’s start with volleyball first: BHS was swept 3-0 on the road at Broken Arrow. The Tigers are the No. 1 ranked team in Oklahoma. They topped the Bruins 25-17, 25-13 and 25-15.
Bartlesville is off Wednesday and back at it at Owasso for a crucial conference matchup tomorrow evening.

Meanwhile Bartlesville softball couldn’t grab a close one at Sand Springs. A late lead faltered and the Sandites walked it off on BHS. Sand Springs got a single in a tie game in the bottom of the seventh to beat the Bruins, 5-4.
Erin Bridendolph again led the offense with two base hits, one being a home run. Bartlesville led 5-3 until Charles Page added two in the sixth to tie it and the run in the seventh to win it.
The win for Sand Springs gives the Sandites the District sweep over BHS and earns them the tiebreaker should that come into play in 6A District 2.
Bartlesville is still in second place in the District and will be in a tournament in Branson this weekend.
