BHS Softball Falls in State Tournament Battle

Bartlesville High softball came to a close on Thursday night, as the Lady Bruins fell in extras in the opening round of the 6A fast pitch state tourament.
 
Mustang topped Bartlesville in eight innings, 6-5.
 
The Broncos struck for two runs in the top of the first inning, putting BHS in an early hole. The Lady Bruins answered with two of their own in the bottom of the sixth to tie it, thanks to a two-run homerun from Jazmyne Campbell.
 
Mustang answered in the top of the seventh with four runs to take the lead back, 6-2. Lola Redington hit a three-run homerun in the bottom half of the eighth to make it a one-run game, but could not bring home the tying run.
 
Bartlesville left the tying run at second base.
 
The loss ends Bartlesville's season. The Lady Bruins finish at 28-12.
