BHS Hosts Non-District Twin Bill on Monday

Bartlesville High boys’ and girls’ basketball is back in action again at home on Monday.

It is a non-District double-header against two different opponents.

The BHS girls will face Muskogee, while the Bruin guys will take on Ponca City. This is the final of four straight home matchups for Bartlesville. Both teams will head to Oklahoma City to face Edmond Memorial tomorrow night.

For the Bartlesville guys, another chance at a home win. The Bruins were competitive with Ponca City last time out. BHS fell to the Wildcats, 53-50 in the second round of the ConocoPhillips Arvest Invitational.

The improved scoring of Riley Duong has been impressive over the past two weeks. Duong is averaging 16.2 points-per-game in his last six. He has scored 16 points or more in five of those games.

All this coming for Duong after a scoreless output against Union during the Jenks-Union Tournament two weeks ago.

Head coach Clent Stewart says after that game the team talked with Dong about asserting himself more – and he’s responded.

On the lady’s side BHS will try to stay hot. Bartlesville has won six of its last seven to get to 10-8 on the year. Lady Bruins won at Muskogee in a close game in early December.

Girls vs. Muskogee at 6:30 guys against Ponca at 8:00 on KWON – AM 1400, FM 93.3 and 95.1. Video coverage on KWONTV.com.
