Bartlesville High football is four days into fall camp.

Bartlesville is less than two weeks away from the first Bruin game on the road at Newcastle on Thursday, Aug. 29.

It has been a hot four days for BHS at Custer Stadium, but Bartlesville has been able to stick to its schedule thus far. Head coach Harry Wright talks about the first days of practice.

Wright and almost the entire coaching staff has been intact for three years now. Bartlesville has won a playoff game each of the past two seasons.

Wright talks about the difference between this first week of practice versus his first year at the helm.

There will be 12-13 starting spots open this fall after departures due to graduation and transfers. Wright continues to mention that some freshman and sophomores are in line to compete for some of those positions.

Friday will be a big progression for BHS, as Meet the Bruins kicks off around 5:30. Youth football players will be introduced under the lights. The high school team’s intrasquad scrimmage will start at 7:30.

Wright explains what he wants to see out of the scrimmage on Friday evening.

On Aug. 23 BHS will host Bishop Kelley in a scrimmage against another team at Custer Stadium.

We will have Bruin football this fall on KWON and KWONTV.com.
