As 2025 ends we continue to look at some of the top sports stories from the year.

Today we head back to the baseball diamond, as Bartlesville High picked up one of the biggest regular season wins in recent memory.

The Bruins knocked off Stillwater, 4-0, to hand the Pioneers and another future first round draft pick their first District loss.

Here was the final call from Couch Park as heard on KWON on April 14.

There was not a ton of offensive highlights for either team, the wind was blowing in on a chilly evening, enabling Romesburg to toss six scoreless innings. He worked around six walks and three base hits. Sam Marcella came on to work a three up three down seventh.

Bartlesville was tremendous defensively, this Cy Rigdon, Barrett Merciez and Cooper Swaim double-play retired one of the best high school players in the country.

Ethan Holliday went 0-2 with a fly out and that ground into a twin killing.

After the game, head coach Cody Price says that was a big win for the Bruins.

Bartlesville had two hits and worked three bases loaded free passes for RBIs in the game. Jaxon Zaun and Swaim had the base hits.

The win moved BHS to 16-9 on the year and 6-3 in District play. Bartlesville would finish at 20-17 with a loss to Sapulpa in the Stillwater Regional.

But the win over the Pioneers, their only District loss all year, was one of the best local sports stories of 2025.
