Bruin Hoops Tips off v. Ponca City
It is one of the bigger sports nights this year in Bartlesville, as the Tommy DeSalme era of Bartlesville High Bruin basketball begins on Friday night.
DeSalme was one of the most accomplished junior college head coaches in the country over the past 15 years. He left his post at Hutchinson Community College to come back to coach his alma mater and move home.
His first game is tonight against Ponca City.
DeSalme says getting support from the community will make a big difference.
Bartlesville returns only a couple regular rotation players from last year’s team. BHS won three games a year ago. DeSalme says the goal for the first part of this season is to play hard and make the community proud.
He talks about getting to coach game one at Bruin Field House.
A 6:00 pregame with the girl’s game starting at 6:30 with the guys to follow around 8:00 on Friday evening on KWON and KWONTV.com.
