Parents, it’s that magical time of year again: the kids are heading back to school, and you need a socially acceptable way to burn off your summer stress before rewarding yourself with pure sugar. Enter the Delaware Tribe of Indians’ Back to School Bash 5K and Fun Run/Walk, kicking off on August 8, 2026, at 5100 Tuxedo Blvd. Whether you’re a seasoned marathoner or just a parent sprinting away from back-to-school shopping bills, there's a pace for you. The Fun Run/Walk kicks off at 8:30 a.m., followed by the 5K at 9:00 a.m. Best of all, once you cross the finish line, you can immediately undo all your cardiovascular hard work with a glorious lineup of food trucks, cotton candy, sno cones, and a bounce house designed to safely contain your kid's newly formed sugar rush.

Don't dilly-dally, because registration officially closes on August 7th. Snagging a spot in the 5K will run you $30 (plus a small signup fee), while the Fun Run/Walk is just $20, and yes, both come with a commemorative t-shirt to prove to your coworkers that you actually exercised. You can secure your spot over at www.runsignup.com before the deadline sneaks up on you faster than a math pop quiz. If you have any burning questions, or just want to politely ask if adults are allowed in the bounce house, reach out to Cody Blackmon at (918) 580-1949 or shoot an email to cblackmon@delawaretribe.com. Grab your running shoes and get ready to earn those sno cones!
