High school football teams have just under three weeks until the end of summer workouts.

Coming out of the dead period two weeks ago mandated by the OSSAA, teams have intensified their workout schedules with fall practice on the horizon.

At Nowata, the Ironmen have put a heavy focus this summer on getting the small things in order during workouts and passing league competitions. The Ironmen have built their workout routine since the summer pride program began in late May.

First-year head coach Scott Martin talked about getting back into the routine after the dead period ended.

Nowata opens their season on the road for Warner on Sept. 4.
