Bartlesville High Athletics will still have one more coach to hire before the start of the 2026-27 school year.

KWON Sports has learned that former head coach Cedric Muteshi has resigned his post as head Bruin soccer coach.

Muteshi, a former assistant coach at Oklahoma Wesleyan, had served in the position for four years. He was hired in late 2022.

The Bruins missed the playoffs in 2026 but were coming off one of the best years in recent memory in 2025. BHS made an improbable run to the 6A State semifinals two years ago under Muteshi’s leadership.

In 2025 the Bruins had back-to-back overtime road playoff wins to get to the semis. BHS knocked off NW Classen, 5-4 in PKs to advance to face Broken Arrow in the semifinals. Bartlesville would fall to BA 1-0 with a trip to the title round on the line.

BHS will start from scratch, as the Bruin’s assistant head coach is also stepping aside.

Muteshi was with Oklahoma Wesleyan starting in 2013.
